Hello, I am planning on starting this June with my PPL and I am looking forward to it. I am not dead set on an ATP location yet as I am unsure about the CFI portion of the flight training. I know ATP guarantees all successful graduates a CFI position, but do they dictate which location you will be instructing at?

The location you do your training at will have nothing to do with where you instruct. After you successfully complete your training you’ll be given a list of available locations to instruct at. You then have 3 options: choose one of the locations offered, decline and find a job elsewhere, or take one of the locations offered and put in for a transfer should a more desirable one open up. As for where to train it’s entirely up to what works best for you.
