Triple level fusion

Hi everyone,

Again I’m checking out flight schools and I’m learning I need a first class medical and I’ve had a triple level fusion on my lower lumbar a few years ago, but I’m fine now. My question is do anyone know of anyone who has passed the first class medical with a similar issues. My appointment to find out is at the end of the month.

I have never heard of that particular condition, but that means absolutely nothing. The best thing you can do is what you are already doing, check with an FAA doctor as they will have the official answer.

Thanks Chris for responding, I how I’m still able to get my first class, because I’ve never want anything more then me becoming an airline pilot.

I have often been surprised on what the FAA. actually does approve. We actually had a pilot that was missing an eyeball and managed to get that approved by the FAA, so you never know.
