Question about 1st Class Medical

Hi!
Between late 2019 and early 2020, I was on a prescription medication for skin acne. I experienced no side effects of any kind (most the side effects listed are only dangerous for pregnant women). Would this decrease my chances at all of getting a First Class Medical? Wanted to check to see if you guys have any thoughts.

Best,
Isaiah L

Isaiah,

No one here is an AME. You need to speak directly with one to get an official answer. You can find a list of them on the FAA’s website. In my opinion, you should be fine, but like I said, I don’t know for sure.

Sounds good. Thanks so much!

Isaiah,

There can be some issues with that type of medicine, but you aren’t taking it now and it isn’t like acne is a serious health condition. I think you will be fine, but of course an FAA Medical Examiner is the real authority on all such things. Just be honest when filling out the form about past diagnoses, but remember that the medication section only asks what you are currently taking.
