Medical

How long is my first class medical for? And is there certain stuff I don’t have to redo because I passed it once? Like color vision of anything else that doesn’t change? Thanks for the input.

Matthew,

A first class medical is goof for a year until while you are under 40. At 40 it becomes good for six months. The exam is exactly the same every time. Now if you have color vision issues and end up getting a statement of demonstrated ability from the FAA I believe that you never have to repeat that, but I would check with a medical examiner to be sure.

I have never failed it, I used it as an example of things that don’t change
and are a given you’ll pass. Weird question but I am curious. Thanks Chris.
