The average for new pilots is actually 34 so you’re a year early. Mandatory retirement is 65 so if you get hired at 35 that gives you a potential 30yrs career. You’re far from old.
AFTER all your training. No airline is going to reimburse you for anything until you successfully pass all your checkrides and training. After you build approx. 500hrs while instructing for ATP you can sign a conditional letter of employment with a Regional (that offers you one of course) and the reimbursement will begin then.
