When a student is in class, how does s/he pay for fringe things such as groceries, gas money, cell phones, car insurance?

That completely depends on the person. If you take out a loan for ATP, they include a calculated / estimated $800 amount stipend per month for personal expenses. Does that mean you have to use all $800? Not at all. Everybody is different. Ill attach a link to the breakdown of ATP’s budget, hope this helps! Cheers.

People either save up money or take out an extra monthly “stipend” as part of their loan package. The finance department would have more details on this.
