Nice little summary of events past and future needs.

Does anyone happen to know how many total commercial airline pilots (regional/majors/etc) currently operate in the US? I’d like to see if I can compare some of those numbers to the numbers listed as “number of pilots needed to bridge the pilot shortage” in the coming years.

Clay,

I have no clue but fortunately there’s this wonderful thing called the internet and Wikipedia does

I believe there are about 90,000, but don’t hold me to that.

The FAA has numbers. They all say “estimated” but I assume they are fairly accurate.

Where the heck did you find that?

As Adam said on this wonderful thing called the internet! :joy:

I stumbled upon it back when I was researching flight school and what not, not exactly sure.
