51 yr old , retired air traffic controller

After 31 years, retired as air traffic controller. At age 51, is there any chance to train/ get hired by a regional?

Absolutely. Read Am I too old to be an airline pilot? If you get your ratings and hours as quick as you can and you don’t have any problems holding a 1st class medical, you could be at a regional at 53 or 54. That gives you at least a decade at a regional.

Tory

Yes, absolutely. Check out the FAQ section as there is a detailed discussion on this.

Thank you both Chris and Tory.

On the flip side of that (pardon for changing the direction of your thread Aircontroller), Is it too late for a 40 year old to become an ATC? Is there as demanding a need for ATC’s as there is for pilots?
Also, would a couple of blemish’s on my record (DUI and Marajuana possession) from 15+ years ago inhibit getting a job as as ATC?

Jeremy,

ATC controllers are actually more limited than pilots. You need to be accepted into the program and be in training by your 33rd birthday.
